Skt. Kjelds Plads - Housing spring 2011

The assignment was to draw up a housing proposal, that fills the last remaining site at Skt.Kjelds Plads, located in the city of Copenhagen. The intention was to make a thorough analysis of the characteristic features, of a traditional Danish urban block, the most typical housing typology within the city perimeter.

Traditional Danish urban houses are usually defined as recognizable, and often monotonous and uniform architectural statements, reflected in exterior facades, space layout etc.

With this proposal, I wanted to explore a new architectural expression by distorting the various aspects of the original typology, thereby dissolving the regular expression of the urban block.
