Nordhavn St. - Intervention Fall 2011​

 

The elevated railway in the Nordhavn station area is daily used as a transport link between the suburbs and the capital.

The elevated railway is placed on a bank of earth that creates a physical barrier between the city and the harbor in the Nordhavn area.
The intervention is focused on dissolving the barrier by providing safe passage from both sides, and a greater relation between the two areas.

The Nordhavn Station building is to be converted as a down scaling of the city in steps towards the waterfront. Different passages will be cut through the building massif, that provides a more accessible path between the two areas.
